COLLEGE STATION – Rock Prairie Road West is growing by a couple of lanes.
The College Station City Council met to discuss spending $194,485.50 on what’s called a preliminary engineering report.
According to the proposal, the existing asphalt road, which is just two lanes, will be replaced with a four-lane concrete roadway. The project would also include the construction of curbs, gutters, underground storm sewers, sidewalks, and an “adjustment” to the railroad crossing and intersection of Rock Prairie Road and FM 2154, or Wellborn Road. The improvements would extend west of Wellborn Road to the city limits.
The proposal calls for a contract for a preliminary engineering report with Binkley & Barfield. The council will hear the presentation and possibly take action.
The total project budget has been set at $4,985,000 within the Streets Capital Improvement Projects Fund.
