Binkley & Barfield, Inc. (BBI) is pleased to announce that Randy Cauthen has been promoted to Operations Field Manager – Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE).
For the last three years, Mr. Cauthen has served as the Senior Designator in charge of all BBI Field Crews. As a highly accomplished and vastly experienced designator of all types of subsurface utilities, Mr. Cauthen has been an integral part of the SUE group since its inception and has been a large contributor to the group’s success.

Mr. Cauthen has over 15 years of experience in utility designation throughout Texas and holds certifications from CenterPoint Energy and AT&T. A graduate of Staking University, he is experienced with many types of electromagnetic designating equipment, including the latest 3D Technologies that allow accurate horizontal and vertical positioning of utilities as deep as 50 feet.
