This year’s BBI Family of Companies Business and Strategic Retreat was undeniably game changing! Our retreat theme was “FOCUS: What’s Your 1%” – Financials, Operational, Client, Utilization, Strategy. Our goal: “Actionable improvement for immediate results.”
All offices and division leaders came together Feb. 1-3 at The Bucksnag Hunting Club in Garwood, Texas to gauge the Family of Companies’ progress in achieving our goals. The retreat was specifically designed to facilitate the ability of our leadership group to step back from their day-to-day demands and activities for an extended period of concentrated discussion, dialogue, and strategic thinking about each organization’s future.
It was important for us to not only leave the retreat with big ideas, but action plans as well. BBI was honored to have Brad Hays, a Leaven Exchange representative, facilitate day two of our planning. He worked with us to address executive questions such as “We came up with a new vision/strategy, but is it a practical fit for our organization?” and “How do we implement these new initiatives on the ground level?” We revisited our foundational direction and recommitted to our purpose as we worked in small teams to dive into what these visions and strategies meant to further develop our personal and professional lives. The result was a unified team of leaders coming together and being able to deliver an action plan to leverage new opportunities and overcome challenges.
In the midst of all the brainstorming, the leaders also connected on a personal level. We introduced ourselves to new faces, learned about each other’s passions and families, and relaxed in a laid-back atmosphere where we were able to ask each other the most important question of all: “How are you living?”
Our leaders are now ready for the year ahead! As we move forward remembering to FOCUS, it’s also important for every one of us to take that word to the “i” power (imagination). Albert Einstein brilliantly said, “Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere.”
