BBI’s Brett Binkley, David Hamilton, PE and Dana Neuneker, PE attended the North Houston Association (NHA) State of the Counties & Annual Awards luncheon on May 30, where featured speakers Harris County Judge Ed Emmett and Montgomery County Judge Craig Doyal shared the accomplishments and priorities of both counties with luncheon attendees.
Judge Doyal was given the organization’s North Star Award for his long-term contributions to the north Houston region, while Cypress Creek Flood Control Coalition’s Jim Robertson was awarded NHA’s Environmental Impact Award for his dedication to the preservation of Cypress Creek, including the creation of parks and pathways along the creek. Vesta Rea-Gaubert of Vesta Rea & Associates received the association’s Compass Award for her leadership on NHA’s rebranding and website creation.
“This year’s honorees are all three very different, yet have all made a tremendous impact,” said NHA’s Executive Director Marlisa Briggs. “We combine our awards event with our State of the Counties address because it’s the perfect way to celebrate north Harris and Montgomery Counties.”
The NHA has worked for more than three decades to advance issues associated with transportation and the environment, and to monitor development trends to improve and enhance the business climate and quality of life within the regions of both north Harris and Montgomery Counties.
