BBI Attends 9th Annual Baytown Rotary Shrimp + Catfish Festival

On Saturday May 5th, David Hamilton, PE; Chris Campbell, PE; Aaron Orozco, EIT; and Luis Cardona, EIT attended the 9th Annual Rotary Club of Baytown Shrimp + Catfish Festival at Royal Purple Raceway.

All day activities included train rides, face painting, a petting zoo and bouncy house for small children, an obstacle course for older kids, a Wetlands Center exhibit, and a live auction with over 20 items available for bidding. There was also a chance for attendees to enter to win a 2018 Toyota Tacoma or a 2018 Honda CR-V (courtesy of Community Toyota and Community Honda, respectively).

All the proceeds went to the Baytown Rotary Foundation. Funds are distributed to local charities as well as international organizations such as Polio Plus, the Guerrero Eye Clinic in Mexico, and a water well sponsored through Living Water.

The main objective of Rotary is service – in the community, in the workplace, and throughout the world. Rotarians develop community service projects that address many of today’s most critical issues, such as children at risk, poverty and hunger, the environment, illiteracy, and violence. They also support programs for youth, educational opportunities and international exchanges for students, teachers, and other professionals, and vocational and career development. The Rotary motto is Service Above Self.
