BBI’s Tommy Cromer, PE; Chris Campbell, PE; Li Chen, PE; and Jeremy Austin, PE attended the Texas AWWA Southeast Chapter Half-Day Seminar, which was held on February 14th at the Norris Conference Center in Houston. The seminar covered a wide range of regional water and wastewater topics presented by local City officials from areas including Sugar Land, Houston, and Pearland. Mayor Joe Zimmerman of Sugar Land delivered the opening address for the seminar and then opened the floor for more of the seminar’s topics and discussions including water education and outreach, development of a water infrastructure master plan, the future to regionalization in Houston’s wastewater system, and the relationship between water and weather.
The American Water Works Association, and the Texas Section AWWA, are dedicated to the promotion of a safe and sufficient supply of drinking water for all people through a proactive effort to influence governmental policies and supporting membership and consumer educational opportunities. The Texas chapter of the AWWA is the second largest of the agency’s 43 sections, with over 3,500 active volunteers today.
