HOW HAS THE INDUSTRY CHANGED SINCE THE START OF YOUR CAREER?

Information Technology progressed exponentially, changing the ways of doing the work. Another change is the evolution of contract negotiations, which I believe has affected the profitability status quo.

WHAT DO YOU GET OUT OF ENGINEERING THAT YOU COULDN’T GET FROM ANY OTHER KIND OF WORK?

The diversity of design and problem-solving.

WHAT PROJECT HAVE YOU BEEN INVOLVED WITH THAT HAD THE MOST SIGNIFICANT IMPACT ON YOUR CAREER?

Two come to mind. One is the North Harris County Regional Water Authority Water Transmission Line located in an electrical transmission right-of-way and addresses the design and constructability issues associated with it. The other was the Northside Sewer Rehabilitation Project, which entailed researching and identifying methods and technologies to substantiate the corrosion of an existing large diameter cast-in-place concrete tunnel wastewater trunk sewer and repair of such.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING TO DO TO TAKE YOUR MIND OFF OF WORK AND REMOVE YOURSELF FROM THE “HUSTLE AND BUSTLE”?

I enjoy getting out in the yard and putting my hands in the dirt. I also love fishing and hunting.
