THERE ARE MANY DIFFERENT ROUTES TO TAKE IN ENGINEERING. WHY DID YOU CHOOSE INFRASTRUCTURE?
I was placed in the infrastructure group at my first company after college and had the privilege of working on the largest water line project in Houston. I am so lucky to have experienced this project in construction and witness the true size and scale of this pipe ranging from 54 inches to 108 inches, and even 120 inches in diameter. I chose to progress my career in infrastructure because, as engineers, we have a huge impact on the basic needs of our communities, things that we all take for granted like clean, running water.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE KIDS WHO WANT TO BE AN ENGINEER WHEN THEY GROW UP?
Study hard the first time around. Learn from your elders!
YOU HAVE ALMOST BEEN HERE A YEAR; WHAT HAS BEEN ONE OF YOUR FAVORITE BINKLEY & BARFIELD PROJECTS TO HAVE BEEN A PART OF?
My favorite project has been the 24-inch and 12-inch Water Line Project 31E for North Harris County Regional Water Authority in Cypress. I have a couple of friends that live in the neighborhood, and my fiancé is also from Cypress, so it’s been cool to work on a project in a familiar place. Also, there have been some great teamwork put into this project, and I’ve really enjoyed working with fellow coworkers.
YOU FIND A GENIE IN A LAMP AND HAVE BEEN GRANTED ONE WISH. WHAT WOULD YOUR WISH BE?
I wish to be able to travel anywhere in the world at the snap of my fingers!
