BBI’s Jerilyn Green Recognized by Texas811 and Central Texas Damage Prevention Council

BBI’s Jerilyn Green was recognized by Central Texas Damage Prevention Council (DPC) leadership for her ongoing contribution to the success of the organization and its public safety outreach efforts. Texas811 Damage Prevention Manager Doug Meeks said they are especially appreciative of Jerilyn’s work in planning and executing a recent utility and pipeline damage prevention event on November 15th in Round Rock, Texas which drew approximately 100 attendees.

Crew members from street, water, and wastewater departments in Round Rock and surrounding cities received training from OSHA, the Texas Railroad Commission, Oncor Electric and Austin Energy, and Texas Gas Service. Participants were from the Cities of Round Rock (who hosted the event), Austin, Cedar Park, Georgetown, and San Marcus, plus Atmos Energy, CenterPoint, SiEnergy, Airco, Aqua Water, Binkley & Barfield engineering, JE Dunn Construction, Manville Water Supply Corporation, SAM Inc., and Tres Mujeres Construction. Dallas Lite and Barricade, along with Acme Barricades demonstrated and discussed the latest traffic safety equipment.

“Jerilyn’s work on the Round Rock event is not unique in that the DPC leadership has come to rely on her people skills to reach out to area municipals & utilities to encourage participation in our monthly DPC meetings as well as other special events,” Meeks said.

Coming soon, Texas811 is hosting its annual Damage Prevention Summit in Galveston on February 18, 19, and 20, 2019. This is open to anyone to attend, with a focus on learning the latest technology and best practices in utility damage prevention. Please spread the word to encourage utility and roadway clients to attend this Summit – particularly those organizations who are within an hour or so of Galveston.
